Well, the age of the ‘digital’ drug is here. And has been for quite a while apparently (think Tuvan throat singing among others). Binaural beats work by using headphones that play different ambient sounds in each ear. The different sounds combine in your brain to create a new frequency that corresponds to brain wave frequencies. Thus, altering your mental state.
OH MY GOD, DRUGS!
Recent outcries are not unexpected. Parent’s fear that their kids will be getting ‘high’ with the use of binaural beats is not unfounded, but it is ridiculous. People have been finding ways to experience the world in altered states since our prehistoric ancestors ate a hallucinogenic mushroom. Our generation is no different. There will always be a natural curiosity to experience the world in different ways, and the digital drug is no exception.
So check out this video, put on headphones, and have an experience. It may take a few minutes so be patient and don’t freak out.
